Audra McDonald
Audra McDonald is one of the most versatile and celebrated performers of her generation. She has won five Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an Emmy Award, and is the only person to have all three in her possession. McDonald will be performing at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
McDonald made her Broadway debut in 1995, originating the role of Carole King in the musical “Smokey Joe’s Cafe.” She has gone on to star in some of the most iconic musicals of the past two decades, including “Ragtime,” “A Raisin in the Sun,” “Master Class,” “Porgy and Bess,” and “Shuffle Along.” In addition to her work on Broadway, McDonald has also appeared in numerous television shows and films. She made her film debut in 1997 in “The Object of My Affection” and has since appeared in “The Prince of Tides,” “Crimes and Misdemeanors,” “Eight Millimeter,” “The Net,” “The Best Man,” and “Hello, Dolly!”
