Los Angeles Opera: Don Giovanni
Los Angeles Opera: Don Giovanni will be performing at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Sunday, October 1, 2023. This will be a special performance, as it will be the first time that Los Angeles Opera has performed this opera.
Don Giovanni is one of the most popular operas, and is known for its dramatic story and beautiful music. The story follows Don Giovanni, a womanizing nobleman, as he tries to seduce a woman named Donna Anna. However, Donna Anna’s father, the Commendatore, challenges Don Giovanni to a duel, and is killed. This leads to a series of events that ultimately lead to Don Giovanni’s downfall.
The music of Don Giovanni is some of the most beautiful and memorable in all of opera. The opera features several well-known arias, including “La ci darem la mano”, “Fin ch’han dal vino”, and “Dalla sua pace”. The music will be performed by the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, under the direction of James Conlon.
