Los Angeles Opera: Lucia Di Lammermoor
Los Angeles Opera’s Lucia di Lammermoor will be performed at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday, September 24, 2022. The production will be conducted by James Conlon and directed by James Robinson.
The cast will feature soprano Nicole Car as Lucia, tenor Javier Camarena as Edgardo, baritone Luca Salsi as Enrico, bass-baritone James Creswell as Raimondo, and mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano as Alisa.
This will be a new production of Donizetti’s classic opera, which tells the tragic story of the young woman Lucia, who is forced into an arranged marriage by her tyrannical brother Enrico. She falls in love with Edgardo, but their happiness is short-lived.
The production will feature sets by John Conklin and costumes by Ann Hould-Ward. The Los Angeles Opera Chorus and Children’s Chorus will be featured, under the direction of Grant Gershon.
