The Marriage of Figaro is an opera buffa, or comic opera, in four acts composed in 1786 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. The opera tells the story of the servants Figaro and Susanna as they outwit their master, the philandering Count Almaviva, who is seeking to seduce Susanna.

The Marriage of Figaro was a resounding success when it premiered in Vienna in 1786, and it has remained one of Mozart’s most popular works. The opera will be performed in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Opera at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday, February 4th, 2023.
