Los Angeles Opera is proud to present Tosca, one of the most popular operas of all time, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Tosca tells the story of the passionate and volatile love triangle between the beautiful singer Tosca, the heroic tenor Cavaradossi, and the villainous Scarpia, the Chief of Police. This timeless tale of love, jealousy, and betrayal is set against the backdrop of Rome’s historic Palazzo Farnese and the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica.
Los Angeles Opera’s production of Tosca will feature an all-star cast, including internationally acclaimed soprano Anna Netrebko in the title role. Netrebko has been hailed as one of the greatest opera singers of our time, and her performance in Tosca is sure to be a highlight of the season. Tenor Jonas Kaufmann will sing the role of Cavaradossi, and baritone Luca Salsi will portray the evil Scarpia.
